If you've recently thought about or are planning to decorate your home, or even just a room in your home, adding a round rug can bring a real finished look to whatever room you are decorating. Round rugs are great for living rooms and family rooms where carpets tend to see a lot of wear. They are also great for covering up any imperfections your carpet might have!

If you have hardwood floors, a plush round rug can soften the look of the room quite a bit. They are also great for adding warmth on those cold winter days when otherwise the floor might feel very cold to bare feet. They also add color to any room that you add them to. They are great to put underneath a dining room or kitchen table as well. Most people like to put a big round rug in the center of the room. A round rug also looks great right in front of a fireplace or in front of a couch to give a little extra cushion to your feet.

Fluffy rugs are also great for a bathroom. They usually come in smaller sizes and are sold in most stores around the towels and shower curtains.  Round rugs come in many different sizes and lengths and are made in many different types of materials depending upon where you are going to be putting them.

Round Rugs For Outside

If you're going to be using them outside on your porch or in your patio, you will of course want to go a more durable and weather resistant rug. You might consider a rug made of polypropylene or bamboo for this. Bamboo is a recent popular choice as not only is it good for the environment, it's also got a very classic, clean look to it. Most bamboo rugs are sold in earthy, neutral tones. You can get rugs made of polypropylene in different colors and these are a good outdoor choice because they are very moisture resistant. If you're going to be using a round rug on a covered porch, a simple braided one would do just fine. These also come in a variety of color combinations, so you can find one to match just about any decorating theme you have going on for your home.

If you're going to be using a round rug indoors, consider where you are using it. If you're going to be using it in a baby's room, think about what kind of crib bedding and curtains you will be using and then try to find a round rug to compliment this. If you're decorating for a baby girl, consider going with a rug in pretty pastels, with maybe a floral design. You can also find them with cartoon designs on them. If you're decorating for a baby boy, navy blue and reds are popular colors, and fairly easy to find. They also sell cute round rugs with pictures of frogs, ducks, jungle animals, and ocean animals as well. If the room you're planning to buy a round rug for is for an older child or teen, consider one in more neutral colors and designs, as they are more than likely to be more picky when it comes to decorating their bedroom. If you're decorating a guest room, think about what type of bedding, and what color you are going to paint the walls. You will want it to match fairly well with this. If you are going with a patterned comforter, you may want to stick with just a plain one colored round rug. Thee are fairly easy to find. If it's your own bedroom you're decorating, you will of course want to go with what makes you most comfortable.

Round Rugs' Material Is Important

What type of material your rug is made out of it really depends on your personal tastes. If you're all about comfort, consider wool or cotton. Wool is considerably more durable than cotton however. If you're only planning to use the round rug for a short period of time, consider using Jute. Jute is the softest you can get, but it fades fairly quickly and doesn't last as long as other fibers. If you're looking for strength and what might last longest, consider Sisal. Nylon is probably the most popular choice for rugs. It's very durable.

Where To Buy Round Rugs

Where you go to find your round rug depends on how much of a selection you want, and how much you want to spend. If you don't mind investing more money, and want a larger selection, consider going to a rug specialty store or home furnishing store. You should also look online and there are many different places you can order from, with a great selection as well such as the Rug Blog. If you don't mind a smaller selection, consider any larger discount store or chain store. You can even find some great round rugs at places such as thrift stores, flea markets and estate sales. It's always a good idea to shop around to ensure you get exactly what you want.
